This post was written during the final validation of the ECA-LP1, before its release.
The LP1 differs from the earlier ECA series in three ways. First, the power stage uses the USB Programmable Power Supply (USB PPS) standard, so the instrument runs from the same adapters used by fast-charging phones and laptops and can draw more power than a standard USB port supplies.
Second, the new chassis is fully aluminium, providing both better thermal management and electromagnetic shielding compared to the previous plastic enclosure.
Third, we redesigned the front-end analog stage to lower the input-referred noise floor, enabling cleaner measurements at the picoamp level.
