Getting started
From the box to your first scan. Power, driver-free USB, a minimal cell, and what to expect on the first launch of Sensitify Studio.
Hardware
4 pagesUnbox the instrument, set up a cell, flash firmware. Everything you do before and around a measurement.
Getting started
From the box to your first scan. Power, driver-free USB, a minimal cell, and what to expect on the first launch of Sensitify Studio.
Device quickstart
Per-instrument notes: what is different between ECA-LP1, 5M, 500k, and Zero. Power, modes, bandwidth, galvanostat availability.
Firmware update
How to update the onboard firmware over USB. Which file to pick, what the bootloader expects, how to verify, and how to recover if an update fails.
Cell & electrode setup
Cable pinout, physical connection of a three-electrode cell to your ECA, and the Sensitify fixtures for screen-printed and interdigitated electrodes.
Software
15 pagesRun experiments and analyse data in Sensitify Studio. UI tour, technique-by-technique walkthroughs, and analysis workflows.
Overview
Studio: UI tour
A tour of Sensitify Studio: the left controls (Method Setup, Parameters, Post-processing, Device), the plot area in the middle, and the experiments list on the right.
File formats
The .stfy file, exporting to XLS, PNG, and PDF, and the planned import for scans recorded on other instruments.
Appearance & shortcuts
Dark mode that follows your system, window layout memory and reset, the keyboard-shortcut reference, and the recent-files list. The comfort settings in Sensitify Studio.
Running experiments
Run a CV
Set up vertex potentials, scan rate, and cycles. Live plotting, saving, and exporting a cyclic voltammogram.
Run EIS
Frequency range, AC amplitude, DC bias, multi-sine vs. stepped. Nyquist and Bode views, and when each tells the cleaner story.
Pulse voltammetry (DPV / SWV)
Pulse height, pulse width, step potential, frequency. How to tune for detection limit versus throughput.
Amperometry
Hold the working electrode at a constant potential and record the current over time. The Cottrell-style transient and the steady-state value.
Potentiometry
Open-circuit measurement: no current flows, the instrument records the cell potential against a stable reference over time.
Chronopotentiometry
Galvanostatic technique: hold a constant current and record the potential transient as the cell responds. ECA-LP1 only.
Analysing data
Fit a circuit
Pick an equivalent circuit, set initial guesses, run the fit, and read the residuals. Step-by-step, with troubleshooting for convergence failures.
Find peaks
Click the Pk badge to detect peaks on a voltammogram. What Studio finds and where the results appear.
Integrate a peak
Pk reports the charge under each peak alongside its position and height. What Q means, how Studio picks the baseline, and how to convert to coverage, efficiency, or mass.
Data processing
Filter a curve (Savitzky-Golay, moving average, median, FIR low-pass, notch) and restrict it to a range or CV cycle, without changing the raw data. Presets, a live spectrum view, and where the filtered data is used.
Export for publication
Picking the right export format (PDF / PNG / XLS / native .stfy), locking axis ranges across figures, and what to record for reproducibility.
Publication Workbench
Studio's multi-experiment figure builder. Five in-canvas analysis modes (Calibration, Randles–Ševčík, Tafel, Dose-response, Box plot), the Bar graph dialog, and the journal-house preset system that re-skins everything in one click.
Troubleshooting
2 pagesWhen something looks wrong. Start here before emailing support.
Common issues
Studio doesn't see the instrument, what the status LED colours mean, Studio crashes and saves, and noisy traces. Sensitify-side checks before deeper debugging.
FAQ
A few questions that come up often: internet requirements, third-party electrodes, and .stfy file compatibility across ECA models.
