The photo above shows the setup. A 500 kHz signal is detected in 0.01 mV RMS steps.
The built-in lock-in amplifier generates and detects low-level signals at high frequencies, so small changes in a sensor can be tracked. It is the same circuit that is used for impedance spectroscopy.
